Eurovision 2024: Lithuania and Ukraine united by music and solidarity

The 68th Eurovision Song Contest has come to an end in the Swedish city of Malmö,

which brought together representatives of different countries and nationalities. This evening, full of art and music, created a unique atmosphere of solidarity and support.

In Lithuania, the event became a real

event in Lithuania: bars, outdoor areas and cafes in Vilnius were packed with spectators. Lithuanians, Ukrainians and representatives of other nationalities came together to support their favourite artists.

This year, Lithuania was represented by Sylvester Belt with the song "Luktelk" performed in Lithuanian.

His musical style, which combines elements of electronic music, rave and techno, showcased the country's culture. "Luktelk" is not just a competition song; it is a reflection on patience and waiting in a world where instant gratification is becoming the norm. Sylvester Belt's composition refers to a common emotional experience, urging us to appreciate the moments of waiting.

Lithuanians actively supported not only their representative but also Ukraine.

The Ukrainian performers alyona alyona and Jerry Heil with their song "Teresa & Maria" provoked a strong reaction from the audience, many of whom waved blue and yellow flags and applauded.

"They shouted for Ukraine as loudly as they did for their Lithuania," says Ukrainian Kateryna Zhebrivska, noting that this support brought tears to her eyes.
In the week leading up to the

According to the results of the voting jury and the audience, Ukraine took 3rd place and

Lithuania - 14th place. Lithuania was awarded points by the jury from the following countries: Ukraine (5 points), Germany (1 point), Moldova (5 points), Estonia (2 points), the Netherlands (4 points), France (1 point), Portugal (7 points) and Serbia (7 points). Eurovision viewers gave Sylvester Belt's performance 58 points.

The Lithuanian jury, in turn, awarded 12 points to the representative of Switzerland, 10 to

Croatia, 8 to Portugal Croatia, 8 - Portugal, 7 - France, 6 - Ukraine, 5 - Sweden, 4 - Israel, 3 - Ireland, 2 - Norway and 1 - Germany.

The Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will be remembered not only as a musical

competition, but also as a symbol of unity and solidarity in difficult times. It is a celebration where music and emotions bring people from all over the world together, giving them an unforgettable experience.
