20 May 2024, Vilnius - In the heart of Lithuania, on the streets of ancient Vilnius, a
symbolic march in support of Ukrainian soldiers who were taken prisoner after the heroic defence of Azovstal in Mariupol will take place.
The aim of this event is to draw attention to the inhumane conditions in which
Ukrainian prisoners are being held in Russian prisons and their suffering.
Two years have passed since the evacuation process began on 20 May 2022. from the
territory of Azovstal. Since then, the Ukrainian heroes of Mariupol have remained incommunicado with their families, and their whereabouts and conditions of detention remain unknown.
The organisers invite everyone who cares to join the march:
Time and place of the meeting: 17:30, Town Hall Square.
The route: The Town Hall Square - Didžioji Square - Pilies Square - Šventaragio Square - Cathedral Square.
On the Cathedral Square: speeches by invited guests, a performance and the formation of a human chain in the shape of the word "AZOV".
This event is intended to:
To tell the world about the cruel conditions of detention and torture of Ukrainian prisoners.
To force Russia to comply with the Geneva Convention and ensure proper conditions for the detention of prisoners.
To support the spirit of Ukrainian soldiers and their families who do not know the fate of their loved ones.
The event is organised by the Ukrainian Youth Group in Lithuania, the Embassy of
Ukraine in Lithuania and Arkadijus Vinokuras, a well-known organiser of events in support of Ukraine. Coordination is provided by the Association of Families of Azovstal Defenders.

to the fate of Ukrainian heroes!
